Job Description


A consultative sales professional, the Director of Sales is the primary Relationship Manager for a $1.2M portfolio of 36-45 Fortune 1000 member companies. Success in the position requires the ability to identify opportunity and engage meaningfully with C-suite executives. The Director of Sales demonstrates the ability to synthesize and articulate the value of our client's mission and portfolio of offerings as they relate to the members most pressing business issues. It expected that the Director of Sales will negotiate global memberships, and will upsell additional specialized services in partnership with product specialists.  This role must have the ability to both lead engagement activities as well as negotiate significant agreements to grow overall revenues.
 
Reports to the Executive Director, U.S. Development.  Teams with assigned Member Development Associate and assigned Council Development Manager to achieve territory results.
 
PRINCIPAL DIRECT ACTIVITIES:
 
1.      Develops and implements strategic territory plans to achieve
revenue targets, which include retaining and growing $1.2M+ in existing  corporate revenues for 35-45 members.  
 
2.         Partners with product specialists to sell the entire portfolio
of  client's specialized services to member companies including Councils, Centers, Sponsorships, etc., based on Strategic Account Plans developed with knowledge of individual member needs.
 
3.         Develops Member specific engagement plans by expanding the utilization of client services on an enterprise level.
 
4.         Effectively communicates the value proposition to the C-suite, senior executives and their direct reports. Projects knowledge, energy and enthusiasm about client programs and services. Identifies Key Business Issues that member companies are facing. Builds business relationships with senior executives to apply insights and services to specific business situations in their company,
 
5         Provides feedback and input from members on the relevance, quality, value and timeliness of  insights and services.
           
6         Other duties as assigned.
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to engage with senior level executives and discuss global business issues.
  • Strong sales track record in selling business and services or consulting services.
  • Demonstrates leadership in adapting to change, solution orientation and resilience in managing member satisfaction.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of related experience.
  • Advanced degree desired.
 Territory includes Ohio, Kentucky and Eastern PA.
