Job Description

The Battery Program Manager is responsible for leadership of all Battery business activity for our client. This includes battery replacement and contract maintenance for Data Center as well as the Industrial sector.  The primary role is to provide vision and leadership to the program as well as drive profitable growth through new programs and initiatives.
Working with the Finance and Logistics team, the Battery Program Manager will provide monthly financial reporting for the business.
The Battery Program Manager will be an individual contributor working closely with the sales, marketing, logistics, operations, and commercial operation departments to establish processes, systems and resources to deliver battery business data required for decision making and risk evaluation.  The role will be responsible delivery of critical sales metrics on internal key performance indicators as well as external customer and market intelligence.  Through people and systems, this role drives standardization and visibility of essential sales, customer and competitive data.  Included is regular reporting and analysis of relevant information through sophisticated business reporting systems. This person must be able to communicate with all areas of the company to ensure seamless delivery of superior solutions.   
  • Provide vision and leadership to the overall corporate battery business
  • Drive financial success by working with all areas and improving programs and reporting
  • Work with the Sales leaders to develop and support key sales programs and drive growth in the Data Center and Industrial sectors
  • Work with the Battery Market Manager to analyze market trends and develop new service offerings
  • Investigate opportunity for battery services on company equipment
  • Drive new Battery Monitoring offerings using Alber monitoring equipment
  • Work with the Data Analytics team and the Big Data tools to monetize the vast quantity of battery data that we have internally as well is strategically drive this to a key market advantage
  • Investigate and drive our presence in on-line sales and lead generation
  • Work with the Operations and Logistics group to leverage our key supplier relations to drive down cost and improve operational efficiency
  • Improve the lead credit process to improve accountability as well as maximize cost recovery
  • Lead the battery forecasting process for both yearly forecast for financial review as well as monthly forecasts reported at the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting
  • Evaluate new technologies such as Lithium Ion to determine the effect on our markets and possible growth opportunities
  • Provide a leadership role in the Sales & Operations planning process.
  • Manage the sales forecasting process
  • Work with senior business leaders to identify and implement business process and applications which add value to sales and marketing – including best practice implementation and training.
  • Analyze the business needs; distinguish key impacts – positive and negative and provide results to executive leadership.
  • Create, develop and lead tactical and strategic changes for business process optimization in support of the sales organization.
  • Develop excellent relationships with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Logistics, Commercial Operations and Finance teams in all aspects of role in support of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Lead the tactical and strategic development of reporting and analysis.
  • Effective utilization of all company tools to track relevant customer and sales metrics and drive sales activities to meet and exceed targets and customer expectations.
  • Continually analyze and monitor essential sales data and present persuasive information to key internal decision makers and, where appropriate, directly to customers.  Implement a high-impact, value added automated reporting schedule.
  • Provide executive level analysis on trends/projections, in conjunction with data reporting, to our business leaders.
  • Establish proactive approaches to consider new, easier, clearer, faster, automated & smarter ways to provide data analysis to our Sales leaders.  Work with IT & other function to optimize business process analysis.
  • Ensure that the Battery teams have the learning & development tools and knowledge to follow through on their roles and develop emerging talent within the function to take on future leadership roles.
  • Evaluate new batter technology and institute that learning into our strategy and new service offerings.
  • Performs other duties and projects as may be assigned.
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, management or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Industry experience is essential, with strong familiarity of a broad range of business and sales process, customer data requirements, forecasting, bid management, etc. as it relates to the industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive sales planning and business operations management experience. 
  • Must have experience successfully cultivating internal and external business relationships at all levels to determine business requirements and align resources to respond to market demands.
  • Strong ability to manage and lead in matrix environments to align resources and strategies in order to respond to business requirements. Demonstrated leadership and ability to effectively motivate and manage in extended team environments to solve problems, implement initiatives, and attain strategic goals.
  • Creative and strategic thinking skills that anticipate market trends, competitive landscape and customer requirements and translate this business intelligence within the business for quick and effective decision making.
  • Highly effective at analyzing critical financial data and synthesizing data from various internal and external sources to drive business strategy and anticipate opportunities and barriers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience and proficiency to articulate vision across global business cultures.
  • Proactive and high-energy style demonstrating passion for the business inspiring key internal and external client groups.
